Sarcomas account for 1% of all malignant tumors. They generally originate from the connective tissue of the body, such as fat, muscle, cartilage, bone, etc.; therefore, they can appear in any part of the body, in the face, trunk and extremities as well as in the abdomen.

It is important to diagnose and treat them in a timely manner because some types of sarcomas are aggressive and can spread to other organs. The mainstay of treatment is surgery and when the tumor is resected, the margins must be wide to avoid recurrence.
